| SCOPE | This training course aims to provide the training for candidates to provide medical care to the sick and injured while they remain on board ship, in accordance with Section A-VI/4 of the STCW Code, as amended. |
| OBJECTIVES | This training covers the requirements of the STCW-78, as amended, Section A-VI/4, Table A-VI/4-2 on meeting the minimum standard of competence in medical care, a trainee will be competent to participate effectively in co-ordinated schemes for medical assistance on ships at sea and to provide the sick or injured with a satisfactory standard of medical care while they remain on board. |
| ENTRY STANDARDS | The course designed for masters, chief officers or deck officers, which want to obtain or need the refreshment of the certificate “Medical Care”. |
| CERTIFICATION | Documentary evidence should be issued to those who have successfully completed this course indicating that the holder has successful completed training for medical care on board a ship |
