SCOPE The training in this course aims to provide seafarers with the knowledge and skill in first aid to be able to take immediate effective action in the case of accident or illness likely to occur on board ship
OBJECTIVES
  • using of the guide “The International Medical Guide to Ships ” (WHO), to select the best means of timely first aid on board;
  • teach students of rapid and consistent action to provide first aid on board to support life-saving and vital functions;
  • understanding  of the necessity  and importance of radio  medical advice, which is an integral part of measures to provide first aid to the patient or victim;
  • knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
ENTRY STANDARDS The course designed for ship’s officers
CERTIFICATION Documentary evidence should be issued to those who have successfully completed  this course indicating that the holder has successful completed training for medical first aid on board a ship

 The maximum number of course attendees is 16
STAFF REQUIREMENTS The  course  is conducted  by qualified instructors  that hold doctor’s licenses and have an adequate experience in this subject.
