SCOPE The  present  training course  provide training for  officers and ratings working or wish to work on board of liquefied gas tankers. The course takes full account of Section A-V/1-2 of the STCW Code, as amended
OBJECTIVES The  objective  of this course  is to meet the training  requirements of regulation V/1-2  of the STCW-78, as amended. It comprises  a basic training programme appropriate to their duties, including liquefied gas tanker safety, fire safety measures and systems, pollution prevention, operational  practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations.
ENTRY STANDARDS Masters, officers, ratings on board of liquefied tankers, assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo and cargo equipment, cadets of marine colleges.  
CERTIFICATION Documentary evidence should be issued to those who have successfully completed  this course indicating that the holder has successful completed training  for basic training for liquefied gas tanker cargo operations.
