SCOPE This training course aims to provide the training for candidates to launch and  take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat in emergency situations,  in accordance with requirements of Regulation VI/2 of the STCW-78, as amended
OBJECTIVES On meeting the minimum standard of competence in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats, a trainee will be competent to operate  life-saving appliances and take charge of a survival craft or

rescue boat during or after launch

ENTRY STANDARDS Ship personnel involving in operations with life-saving appliances.        
CERTIFICATION Provided that this course has been approved by the administration, a seafarer who successfully completes it will be issued with a certificate attesting that he or she has completed a course which meets or exceeds the level of knowledge specified in the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Sections A-VI/2, B-VI/2.
